There is more to a logo than a pretty picture. It's an entity in itself with something to say about your business.
The Eurolines Logo contains a compass. Four red arrows move outward, depicting North, South, East & West exposing the O in EurOlines.
IBM: 1972 Paul Rand
The blue in the IBM (aka “Big Blue”) logo represents a company that is non-threatening yet stable and established. When Rand redesigned the IBM logo he replaced the solid type with 8 horizontal bars to represent “speed and dynamism”. While the logo typically isn’t used in its original blue today, it is still a very prominent color in the IBM brand.
The Electricity Supply Board logo we know and perhaps love less was designed to depict the NEW modern, flexible, energy efficient technology of fluorescent lighting. Decades later it is as relevant to-day as it was then. The ESB logo still bears continued resemblance to to-days CLF bulbs (Compact fluorescent lamps).
